GCSE Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Physics tuition
My name is Michael I am qualified secondary school teacher with 3 years teaching experience in both the state school and private sector. I obtained my PGCE in Secondary school science and maths at the outstanding department of education at the University of Oxford.
I am very passionate about teaching and I am highly committed to ensuring that all my students excel by breaking down barriers to learning hindering progress. My aim is to ensure that all the students I teach become more confident in their approach to science and maths, become skilled problem solvers and also acquire the study skills that will see them in good stead during their GCSEs and beyond.
I am well versed in teaching GCSE/A LEVEL maths and sciences from a range of syllabus including AQA, EDEXCEL and OCR.
My other academic qualifications include a PhD in the medical sciences obtained at the University of Wales, a BSc in Medical Biochemistry and an MSc in Immunology obtained at the University of Birmingham. I am both a scientist and a teacher of science and one of my principle strengths is the ability to link all topics I teach to real life contexts.
During tuition all students will be provided with a range of materials for topics taught. This will include 1) my own personalised teaching power points. 2) revision guides. 3) past question papers on request and 4) stationery if needed. Students must not be shy to request any of the above resources mentioned as this is factored into the tuition cost.
I am an enthusiastic, approachable and patient tutor who enjoys making science easier and more comprehensible for A-level, GCSE and Key Stage 3 candidates who urgently need extra tuition in Chemistry, Biology, Maths or physics to boost their grades. I enjoy delivering a problem based learning approach to tutoring particularly as educational research clearly shows that it is not IQ that determines how well students do in exams but rather exam practice, practice practice!!
I am motivated by helping my students to excel in the sciences, and I am always very encouraged when my students excel in subjects that they previously struggled in, there is no greater job satisfaction as a teacher.
I offer lessons at £48 for a 120 minute lesson, £45 for a 100 minute lesson and £28 for 60 minute lessons. However the first 30 minutes of the first lesson will be free, as I will use this as a consultation period to allow me find out the strengths and weaknesses of new students and I chance to discuss with parents an action plan.
I also offer cheaper group discounts and sibling discounts charged at a flat rate of £20 per hour per group member or per sibling.
If you are looking for a great science and mathematics tutoring service I look forward to hearing from you
