We are looking for a couple of apprentices to join our busy, hardworking team. We run a very busy, Outstanding, Day Nursery close to the QMC in Lenton. Our nursery is full with a long waiting list and we feel an apprentice could offer a lot to the children and support our existing team to deliver excellent care and pre-school education.



So what's in it for you?



We will organise your training, monitor your progress and support you in gaining an internationally recognised NVQ2/3 qualification. You will be paid a training allowance of £122.20 per week and have 28 days paid holiday.

At the end of a successful apprenticeship we will offer you a full time job.



What do we expect?



We expect you to work hard and be reliable, be an absolute pleasure to have around, keep up to date with your paperwork and your college work and to have endless bags of patience..... eyes in the back of your head would also be useful but are not essential.

Job Description.



Junior Nursery Practitioner



The position of Trainee or Junior Nursery Practitioner reflects a desire to work in the field of childcare. A Trainee Nursery Practitioner may be working towards a professional qualification or have some degree of experience with children. The willingness to train, both formally and informally is essential for this position. This is an important supportive position in the team and as such there are a number of responsibilities as detailed below.



Responsibilities.



1) To ensure the safety, well being and happiness of the children in your care in your group.

2) Smooth day to day running, in conjunction with senior staff, of a specific room or area.

3) Curriculum planning, in conjunction with senior staff for that room.

4) Thorough and accurate completion of paperwork to monitor the children’s progress in accordance with the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage. (or equivalent) This paperwork is essential to demonstrate our good practice.

5) Parent liaison for specific children in accordance with the key worker system implemented at Angels by day.

6) To provide support for your senior colleagues.

7) To promote and abide by the philosophy of Angels by Day re. Child Care, Parental Support and Montessori Ethos.

8) To ensure the cleanliness and suitability of toys and equipment in your room.

9) To ensure the cleanliness of the room itself.



It is important that in your capacity of Trainee Nursery Nurse that you are willing to build your knowledge of childcare and development. A senior member of the team will be assigned to monitor your progress ensuring that you are allowed to maximise your potential.



You may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as may reasonably be required.



In addition to the responsibilities outlined above we expect you at all times to act in a trustworthy and correct manner in your professional capacity working for Angels by Day.
